Two Wilsonville charities dedicated to helping others received a boost on June 18 when they each received two substantial donations.Jake Schwein, pastor of compassion and justice at Grace Chapel, presented one $4,000 check each to Cheryl Kelly, who represented Wilsonville Community Sharing, and Lonnie Gieber of Random Kindness.

The Wilsonville City Council appointed Jhuma Chaudhuri to the city’s Development Review Board during its Monday, July 2 session.The DRB consists of two five-person panels who make decisions regarding development, design review, conditional use permits, zoning and more.

South Metro Area Regional Transit (SMART) is proposing to increase fares on three routes that travel outside of Wilsonville city limits. The cash fare for the 1X route which travels to Salem would increase from $2.

It already has been a year since City Manager Bryan Cosgrove was hired last June, and plenty has happened since then.“Most of the first year for me, quite honestly, has been getting to know the community, the employees, and getting used to the council dynamics and trying to get to know each councilor individually,” he told the Spokesman during an interview last week.
