The Student Art Council gave one final update to the Wilsonville City Council on May 21 as the Beauty and the Bridge Project nears completion.Representing more than 1,000 students who participated in the art project, the student art council served as a liaison to the city and the voice of the young artists.

The Wilsonville City Council approved the $136 million city budget for fiscal year 2012-2013 at a June 4 council meeting.The city held public hearings on the budget and related budget resolutions before it was approved.

Scenic Trolley Tours start up again for the summer, starting June 21 and continuing through August.The tour is an hour-long ride around Wilsonville. The trolley is an open-air style trolley, and tour conductors talk about the sights while telling a little about the history of Wilsonville along the way.

South Metro Area Regional Transit (SMART) will host the new Wilsonville Sunday Streets event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.This free event will focus on connecting neighborhoods, parks, and people: bicyclists, walkers, runners, seniors, adults and children will enjoy traffic-free streets filled with fun and interactive entertainment, music, physical activities, and food.

There soon will be new faces at Wilsonville City Hall with the recent hiring of three staff members. The most recent is Joanne Ossanna, who City Manager Bryan Cosgrove announced June 18 will be the city’s new finance director.
