Old Town Christmas lighting was a big successWe would like for the folks in Wilsonville to know what has been going on in our little part of town. At our November 2009 Boones Ferry Historic District Neighborhood Association meeting the board decided to have a “Christmas Lighting Decoration” contest for the residents of Old Town.

The voters have spoken. But the Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce opposed the passage of Ballot Measures 66 and 67, since we felt the more appropriate question for Oregonians is tax reform, not higher taxes.

On Feb. 12, Rep. Matt Wingard gave a misinformation-filled speech to the Oregon House about global warming. He said, among other things, that the Earth is not warming, that Arctic sea ice is near normal, Antarctic sea ice is exactly normal, Polar bears are experiencing a baby boom, that water vapor plays a far greater role in our climate than does carbon dioxide and that scientists in Britain have rigged data.

The proposal to cut back on WES service reminds us of a new TV show that’s never really given a chance. You’ve probably experienced it. The show premieres, skips a few weeks, gets moved around on the schedule before finally its cancelled due to lack of viewership.
