A Wilsonville man was arrested early Sunday morning by Tualatin Police on numerous charges, including robbery and drug possession, after he allegedly stole a woman’s purse at knifepoint.

According to the Tualatin Police Department, David Allen Rogacz, 19, was taken into custody just after 1 a.m. on Sunday morning after officers responded to a robbery call in a parking lot in the 6600 block of S.W. Nyberg Street in Tualatin. The female victim indicated she knew Rogacz and named him as a suspect. She reported that Rogacz threatened her with a kitchen knife with an approximately 7-inch blade, demanded her purse and fled once he grabbed it.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies used a canine unit to try and track the suspect, after which he was reportedly found hiding in a nearby wetland south of the parking lot. Rogacz was taken into custody at that time without further incident.

He now faces two counts of of first-degree robbery and single counts of unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine. He also was arrested on outstanding warrants issued in Clackamas County charging him with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

He was lodged in the Washington County Jail, where he remains held on $50,000 bail.
