EUGENE – They have called it Trophy Saturday.
That’s been the goal all season long for No. 2 Wilsonville – a guarantee that it would play for a state trophy.
And the Wildcats were able to come through with a 55-47 victory over Pendleton in the consolation semifinals at the OSAA Class 5A state tournament at McArthur Court on Friday morning.
“All you need is one win (in Eugene) to get there so we definitely wanted to get (to Saturday),” junior Seth Gearhart said.

EUGENE -- The first step in the journey is now complete for No. 2 Wilsonville.
Battling a rough first half of shooting where nerves seem to have gotten the best of them, the Wildcats pulled through over the final 16 minutes to pull out a 43-32 victory over Hermiston in the quarterfinals of the OSAA Class 5A state tournament on Wednesday at McArthur Court.
