Community members will soon have the opportunity to learn how Jewish immigrants established lives in Oregon.
At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, Judy Margles, retired CEO of the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education, will speak on the history of Jewish people in Oregon. The free event will be held in the Wilsonville Public Library and is the latest in a speaker series run by the city’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee.
According to the city’s newsletter, Margles’ talk will cover history from the Gold Rush through modern day and explore “how Jewish immigrants built their lives, established communities and made a lasting impact on Oregon’s social, economic and political landscape.”
